Your career will begin with your first contact with our office, Deborah DeJong, our Office Manager, will assist you with everything from intake dates, funding, forms, transportation and accommodation.
During your 12 week program you will also learn important employability skills and resume building to ensure you have all the skills necessary to secure employment in the industry right away. HVET also offers placement support, providing an up to date job board and ongoing employment follow up to support your new career.
HVET's Lead Trainer, Shawn Bieganek has been operating heavy equipment for over thirty years. He has learned the hard way...... and has brought that knowledge to the 12 week training program to teach you the easy way. HVET's multi-equipment program is the most comprehensive in the industry and is licensed by the Alberta Ministry of Education and Training.
Our trainers give each student the time and respect they deserve. It takes a combination of patience and experience to teach you how to operate a 55,000lb machine so efficiently that you can quickly contain a chemical spill within minutes, and operate it so delicately that you can pick up (and place) a full can of soda with your machine without rupturing the can.
As qualified instructors our trainers have the background to teach you how to cut a bank, build a ramp, excavate a basement or grade a slope to specification.
The bottom line is we work with great people. We expect your best; and we will give you our best. That includes our best attitude!
