High Velocity Equipment Training
  1. At HVET safety comes first.
  2. Visit to work location (getting to know the site, classroom etc.).
  3. Know your instructor and students (background knowledge, names on hard hats).
  4. Scheduling.
  5. Safety meetings (class rooms and tool box).
  6. Emergency Response Plan, Muster Station.
  7. PPE, seatbelts, discussion operators manuals and warning sticker.
  8. First Aid Stations and fire extinguishers.
  9. Overhead Hazards.
  10. Shut down procedures be familiar with them all.
  11. Classes will be broken up into Morning and Afternoon training groups; HVET operates 7 days per week.  If there are times you are unavailable let us know.
  12. Always practice good housekeeping (windows and inside of machine clean, hand rail grease free, etc.).
  13. Use caution when crossing road ways, look both ways.
  14. Students taking medication will need a doctor’s note or authorization to operate equipment.
  15. Proper hand signal will be used at all times.
  16. HVET enforces a dress code rule (no shorts, min 6” sleeves) dress for weather conditions (rain gear etc.).
  17. Grading will be done on a daily basis on the following: skill, attitude, quizzes, exams, and verbal interaction.
  18. HVET will work with you on job placement, resume building, making contact with vendor or contractors, and it is the responsibility of the student to secure employment.  It is individual SKILL, PERSEVERANCE, and ATTITUDE that secures a successful position.
